From The Start
We were a creative start-up in Baltimore, Maryland in 2001.
Dustin Dohm, now C.E.O. and Creative Director transferred Stylin’ Strings Inc. to York, PA in 2003. Dustin had also been working as an art director for Digi-Tex inc., one of the top local design & print firms in central PA. Stylin’ Strings Media, a division of Stylin’ Strings Inc. which also serviced the lacrosse and apparel industries, was being crafted into a business that prided itself on being outside the box. Dustin managed design and marketing for multi-million dollar clients to mom n pop start-ups. His experience and client base motivated him to change the design and marketing landscape in primarily traditional markets. In early 2005, Dustin started designing and building out what would become our headquarters today.
In 2006, our studio doors opened. Stylin’ Strings Media was the design & media arm that had become the driving force behind its nationally recognized lacrosse division. While branding & marketing the custom lacrosse manufacturing division the media business had grown itself with regional and national clients.
In 2009, we partnered with Kryptronic, a software development company, to offer our design clients a platform that we could skin with our dynamic website designs. This added over 10 years of web development and project management experience to the firm.
Our company and its work began to acquire clients inside and outside of Pennsylvania with our unique efforts in problem solving, demographic research, and relationship building. The success of a few national clients in the rapidly changing S.E.O. battle to be ranked #1 on Google helped our business grow tremendously. As the economy slowed, we started to get busier and busier with people looking for ways to succeed with reasonable budgets. We could directly relate to small business challenges because we were a small business with similar growing pains.
Managing brands, developing websites, and coming up with creative ideas for print and marketing propelled our client base into all segments of business. Going into 2016, it had been 6 years since we had taken a deeper look into where our firm was going. Our network of in house creative professionals had come to a cohesive vision, and thus S/S Creative Studio was born.
Our original logo was 15 years old, and would no longer be shared by the media, lacrosse, and apparel divisions. As S/S Creative Studio, our portfolio speaks for our experience. As time evolves, as the world creates unique challenges for business, we will be here to embrace change.
